Liposuction, also called as lipoplasty, is a procedure that uses cannula to remove fat from specific areas of the body, such as the stomach, hips, thighs, buttocks, and upper arms. The procedure is done under general anesthesia to contour the body.

The cost of liposuction differs depending on the location, the surgeon's experience, and the type of procedure. On average, the cost of liposuction in the US, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons is $3,637. The average cost is only part of the total price. Anesthesia, operating room facilities and other related expenses is not included.
